Hello, My poor little pup has a hurt foot. I took her to the vet and it appears her groth plates are not growing correct. She walk on side of the foot. The doc gave me some antibi's for swelling and inflamatory along with some pain pills. I hope these will help,as i have 13 days to give them to her. Can anyone help on this situation, any advice or pointers? Feel free to email : cp23mj@aol.com

Get some SURE GROW immediately - it is made by Trophy - the website is www.trophyanimalcare.com/breeder_products.htmI would also start the pup on plenty of vitamin C - 2000 mg per day if you don't give it already. Mindy Carter

Hi, Thanks for the info. I hear good and bad things about the vit. C ? Have you ever dealt with a problem like this before? Will it be ok to give here the trophy along with the drugs from the vet? Can the problem be corrected without surgery and was she born with it? Sorry for all the questions. Chris

Chris, There are no bad things about Vitamin C - some people think you can give too much, others don't. In any case, 1000mg daily is a happy medium, that is why I suggested that amount.
Sure Grow is vitamins and minerals that are essential to GROWTH, which is what you need for this little girl. Go to their website and you can see pics and testimonials from other owners with growth problems similar to hers. It is totally safe. I buy it by the case, and my dogs are on it from 8 weeks until at least 1 year.

Hi, I had this years ago, tried splinting, suregrow, vitamins, NOTHING WORKED. Until I was told by a long time breeder to take the pup off of high protein food (usually puppy food) and put them on a low protein (18-20%) of a good adult food. Cleared it up straight away. Hope this helps. Sue

Its funny you mention that. When i got the pup she was on dura life and i put her on Iams and there after is when the problem began. I ordered some trophy and give it a try and if it dont work thats the next step. Thanks for all the info. Chris

Chris, Keep us posted - BTW, did you check with your breeder to see if any other pups in the litter had any problems, or if the parents did? Hope your little one gets straightened out. Mindy Carter
