I've posted here about my Ching and the ear problems he;s been having over his hole life, well since he was 18 months old till now,he's 3 years old.As I mentioned in the last thread he was put on Cepro antibiotic for Phseudomonas bacterial infection in his ears,He's still currantly on it and will remain on it for 3 more weeks. After taking him back to my vet for a follow up DEEP Cleaning ,general anastiesia needed for this procedure, my vet said everything looked great Except that his ear canal at the point it makes a 90 degree turn to the ear drum was closed by 90% the left ear wasn't quite as bad.My vet insisted that Ching should have this ear canal surgery rite away and that it would be the end of these ear problems of constant infection and unable to depressurize his ears when going to the moutains and back,I thought he was whinning because the roads were so whindy, not at all ! he couldn't depressurize at all especially with water and wax packed in deep down.So can anybody here tell me if they have exsperianced this problem, and or lead me to a website that explains in detail about this type of procedure, "the opening up of the ear canals"He's schedualled for 1/24/2005 for the surgery and according to the vet it is extremmly Painful recovery, and my Ching hates taking Pain meds because they make him want to fight the drowsy effect that they cause. Please anybody respond on this matter its been a real trying time for us all here and are quite nervous about the outcome.
